The Baguette® 26424 made its debut in the Fall/Winter 2026 collection—the first show by FENDI's Chief Creative Officer, Maria Grazia Chiuri. It stays true to the original 1997 Baguette silhouette and model code 26424, signaling a return to the house's roots.

In the late 1990s, minimalism reigned supreme. It was against this backdrop that the FENDI Baguette was born in 1997, inspired by a compact, understated silhouette—light enough to tuck under your arm and carry your daily essentials. The Baguette boldly defied the minimalist orthodoxy of the time, breaking the monotony of single-tone dressing with vivid color clashes, rich artisanal techniques, and daring material experimentation. It became a statement of FENDI's unapologetic spirit and quickly evolved into a cultural icon and must-have item, prized for its ability to reflect the wearer's individuality.

Crafted from mulberry silk, the bag features a dazzling embroidered motif hand-stitched by artisans—using up to 51,400 beads and intricate threadwork to create a three-dimensional design. Each bag takes over 173 hours to produce.

On closer inspection, the meticulous beadwork is divided into six square panels, with circular and square geometric motifs embroidered in the center, showcasing superb color harmony and visual depth. The designer has framed the design with delicate floral patterns in orange and green thread, adding a touch of pastoral charm.

Another standout feature is the use of lizard skin—a rare and luxurious material with naturally fine scales and a gradient sheen, as intricate and beautiful as a painting.

The bag's clasp is lined with lake-blue lizard skin, its mottled tones exuding an artistic flair, while pink lizard skin covers the FF closure, creating a striking color contrast. The shoulder strap and the sides of the interior zipper are also crafted from lake-blue lizard skin, underscoring an opulent finish.

This Baguette comes with two lizard-skin straps—one long, one short—both adjustable and detachable.

With the short strap, it can be carried as a petite top-handle bag. You can also tuck it under your arm, which visually elongates the silhouette—a nod to early-2000s aesthetics.

With the long strap, you can adjust the length via the buckle to suit any frame.
