Debuting on the HERMÈS Spring/Summer 2026 runway, the Kelly Hobo inherits the design language of the So-Kelly, marking the triumphant return of the bucket shape to the Kelly family.
Hermès launched the So-Kelly in 2008, designed by then-creative director Jean-Paul Gaultier. It ingeniously fused the iconic Kelly turnlock with a bucket bag silhouette, its soft shape and wide strap offering a comfortable, casual take on the Kelly — perfect for young trendsetters seeking a relaxed everyday bag.
The original So-Kelly was discontinued in 2016 and has become a coveted vintage piece. The Kelly Hobo revives the bucket look a decade later, with the key difference being its integrated shoulder strap: the side seams extend upward to form the strap, creating a sleeker silhouette, better body contouring, and reduced weight.

TheTouret turnlockis the bag's most iconic Hermès element. First used on the 1930s Kelly, this circular, hollow turnlock pairs with a square keyhole engraved with the HERMES logo. A simple twist opens the flap — both clever and ceremonial.

The silver turnlock is crafted from palladium-plated brass and secured using Hermès' uniquePearlingtechnique. Artisans cut and hammer the rivet tips, then round and polish them to a pearl-like smoothness, ensuring every piece of hardware is both durable and silky to the touch.
An innovative closure strap wraps the front like a belt, echoing tailoring precision and equestrian aesthetics. The metal nameplate has been repositioned to tuck discreetly behind the strap plaque.

All Hermès bags are sewn using theSaddle Stitchtechnique, a two-needle, one-thread method over a century old. Impossible to machine, it requires each stitch to be hand-sewn with exact spacing and tension, ensuring enduring reliability.
The bag is made fromChéri calfskin, which combines calfskin's durability with lambskin's supple feel, developing a beautiful patina over time. White topstitching traces the edges like fine pencil strokes, adding artisanal charm.

The Kelly Hobo comes inMiniand26sizes. The Mini measures 15×20×7.5cm, and its bucket shape offers generous space. The leather-bound base is reinforced, allowing the bag to stand upright on a flat surface.
We fit an iPhone, notebook, coin purse, jewelry case, tissues, pen, lipstick, perfume, and keys inside. The open top makes access easy, and capacity is ample for daily essentials.
Multiple adjustment holes and an Albion buckle let you change the strap length for hand-carry, shoulder, or crossbody wear. When worn on one shoulder, the strap drapes elegantly over the bag's front, channeling a free-spirited vibe.
