· In View | Hermès Hong Kong Presents the Hermèstories Fantastical Theater and Exhibition: Step Inside the Hermès Stage of Whimsy ·

From October 24 to November 8, 2026, Hermès will stage "Hermèstories" — a theatrical spectacle and exhibition at Freespace in Hong Kong's West Kowloon Cultural District. Through surreal stagecraft and immersive sets, the production recounts the story of the Hermès family business and its signature creations, inviting audiences on a journey into the spirit of the house.

Written by Pauline Bayle and directed by Joe Hufton, the play follows Lad, a stable boy, and a narrator as they wander the streets of Paris. The journey begins at 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré, the site of Hermès's flagship, where the two protagonists move through a fantastical realm woven from silk twill and leather. Their boundless imagination carries them to a mysterious shop window in the middle of the desert, and amid witty dialogue and poetic song, they slip fluidly through a kaleidoscope of scenes and the house's iconic objects.

Scarves, orange boxes, zippers, and the Bolide, Kelly and Birkin bags become wondrous props on stage, vividly linking the milestone moments and surprises of Hermès history. Audiences are drawn into a theatrical adventure where poetry meets play, exploring the brand's story and craftsmanship up close.

The exhibition itself unfolds like a scene of its own, inviting visitors to wander among installations reminiscent of a theater's prop store — examining each iconic piece at close range and discovering the long history, exceptional craftsmanship and unmatched imagination behind it.
