GUCCI has teamed up with the legendary Japanese cloisonné workshopAndo Cloisonnéon a limited-edition capsule collection. Using the traditional *shippo-yaki* (cloisonné) technique, intricate floral motifs like lilies and roses adorn the Bamboo 1947 top-handle bag and small leather goods. The lustrous enamel and lacquered leather create a captivating interplay, infusing the pieces with an elegant Eastern charm.

“Shippo-yaki” is the Japanese term for metal enamelware, a technique derived from Chinese cloisonné that involves fusing glassy enamel onto a metal base. Founded in Nagoya in 1880 (Meiji 13), Ando Cloisonné was designated an official supplier to the Imperial Household Agency in 1900 (Meiji 33), cementing its status as one of Japan’s most renowned cloisonné masters.

The collaboration draws inspiration from the Japanese aesthetic concept of *kachō fūgetsu* (flower, bird, wind, moon), which celebrates the beauty of nature and refined elegance. Enameled floral patterns — lilies and roses symbolizing good wishes and love — are rendered on lacquered GG Monogram leather, echoing GUCCI’s iconic Flora motif and highlighting a fusion of Eastern and Western cultures.

The standout piece is the limited-editionGucci Bamboo 1947top-handle bag. One version features black-gray lacquered GG leather with blooming lily motifs, while the signature bamboo handle and clasp are coated in black. The deep, dark tones beautifully offset the iridescent enamel floral emblem, exuding a distinct Eastern elegance.

Another iteration uses dark green lacquered leather as a backdrop, adorned with bright white and pink rose patterns — a classic Eastern aesthetic of green leaves setting off red blossoms.

The capsule also includes a zip-around wallet, card case, charm, silk scarf, and other small accessories. Every item comes in special packaging inspired by the traditional Japanese *furoshiki* wrapping cloth, adding a ceremonial touch.
