The Chanel Fall/Winter 2026 Haute Couture show has just concluded at the Grand Palais in Paris. This season, the collection is titled "Gaby and the Beanstalk," with creative director Matthieu Blazy drawing inspiration from a fairy tale anthology found in founder Gabrielle Chanel's personal library. Elements like magic beans, vines, teddy bears, the ugly duckling, and swans are woven into the house's classic silhouettes. Low-rise waists, gold and silver embellishments, and lightweight fabrics breathe life into the garments, striking a balance between everyday wearability and couture dreaminess.

The classic Chanel suit opened the show, with clean lines and structured tailoring, crafted from raised-lace embroidered with magic bean motifs and accented with sheer silk tulle. Models carried a copy of 'Les Fées, Contes des Contes' from Gabrielle Chanel's library, and the book's whimsy translated into intricate details: vines climbing up heels, a compact evening bag shaped like a sleeping bear, and buttons depicting the ugly duckling's transformation into a swan.

This season's evening bags bring fairy tales to life. The magic bean from 'Jack and the Beanstalk' appears with metal-embellished leaves and curling vine chains. One version is adorned with red and white enamel, another with a green metallic finish, while pearl pods and a专属 vine metal stand complete the look.

The goose that laid the golden eggs is transformed into a delicate hard-shell evening bag, complete with turquoise eyes, a 'golden egg' pendant, and a 'nest' stand. The chain features metal feather details, and the wings open to store small items like jewelry or keys. Available in red-gold and silver colorways.

A bear-shaped evening bag takes inspiration from 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears.' Crafted from hammered metal, it depicts a bear sleeping on a branch, with a tiny turquoise-winged bee 🐝 resting on it. The chain is adorned with honeycomb and other decorative elements, realistic yet playful.
