Balenciaga's Winter 26 runway debut, the Hourglass Avenue bag, officially launches this week. Drawing on the house's signature hourglass silhouette and vintage doctor-bag codes, the new design features a lustrous Box calfskin body accented with a minimalist brass clasp. Its fluid, curved base echoes the cinched waist of a corset, carrying forward the classic tailoring of Balenciaga's early haute couture.

The Hourglass Avenue is the latest addition to the Hourglass family, continuing the line's signature hourglass shape inspired by founder Cristóbal Balenciaga's Basque waist. The bag takes its flap structure from the classic doctor's bag and is crafted from specially treated Box calfskin, retaining a structured shape without sacrificing a supple feel.

The flap is fastened with a minimalist brass clasp engraved with the BALENCIAGA logo and the words 10 Avenue George V, a nod to the house's haute couture atelier at 10 Avenue George V in Paris.

Currently available in two sizes, small and medium, the bag comes with a top handle, a concealed second handle, and an adjustable, detachable long shoulder strap, allowing it to be carried by hand, on the shoulder, or crossbody. Lined in soft nappa lambskin, it features a single large compartment, an interior zip pocket, and a back pocket. The short flap can be closed or tucked inside the body, letting you switch between multiple styling options.

The small size comes in four colorways: black, grape purple, white, and carmine red. The black-and-gold pairing is a classic, versatile choice; the raisin hue is understated yet distinctive; the white is clean and elegant; and the red is eye-catching and full of presence. The glossy Box calfskin has an oil-paint-like sheen that makes the bag feel like a fine sculptural work of art.

The medium size is offered in two colorways, black and grape purple. These deeper tones are understated and timeless, making them an ideal match for the upcoming fall/winter season.
