Bottega Veneta has just unveiled its new bags for the Winter 2026 collection, and this season's pieces take their cue from the elegantly dressed Milanese in winter. Bags are reimagined as books, newspapers, miniature suitcases and other narrative-driven shapes, or accented with sequins, marble, little gold spheres and shearling, capturing the unique tension of Milan — a city where ruggedness and sensuality coexist.

· Milan Inspiration ·

Inspired by a book, the Opera clutch features a cardinal-red Intrecciato-woven sheep leather "book cover" paired with a cord-style leather wrist strap, while a gold-stamped motif lends the piece a classical air. At 21.5x16x4.5cm, the body holds a smartphone, lipstick, card case and other small essentials — a playful design that turns the bag into a witty, story-rich work of art.

The Cubo evening bag is crafted from precious short-textured crocodile leather into a compact little box silhouette, with a metal frame, handle and square clasp that echo the sculptural form of the bag. Inside, a lambskin lining and a mirror make it feel like a treasure chest with a secret.

The La Milanese evening bag pairs a caramel crocodile leather body with a marble clasp, while the vintage kiss-lock closure lends an air of elegance and luxury. The new Sardine and Tosca bags are finished with a Sardine handle and spherical clasp in Diaspro Dalmata — a jasper with natural speckled veining — bringing the organic charm of natural stone to each piece.

The Knot evening bag is entirely covered in gold sequins in a scrolling vine pattern, paired with a gold sheep leather lining and a silver-tone metal knot clasp for a shimmering, light-catching finish. The 1998 top-handle bag is embroidered all over with black sequins, as if dressed in a lavish evening gown. The Andiamo bag is adorned with precisely cut round leather sequins that evoke mermaid scales, extending the house's leather craftsmanship into a richly layered expression of texture.

The new 1998 top-handle bag features a vintage kiss-lock structure with a slim top handle, offered in grey ostrich leather and classic Intrecciato-woven leather. The refined kiss-lock closure brings a romantic, elegant touch.

The Bellini bucket bag pairs a soft, rounded barrel shape with a drawstring closure and tassel detailing, finished with a delicate little gold sphere at the side. Offered in natural shearling and black padded calfskin, its plush, voluminous silhouette feels perfectly suited to autumn and winter.

The Spicchio bag features a minimalist semicircular silhouette with a curved handle and leather wrist strap, while an adjustable shoulder strap allows for hand-carry, shoulder and crossbody wear. Little gold spheres at either side add a sculptural detail. Available in a small linen shade and a medium olive green, the body and side panels alternate between solid leather and Intrecciato-woven leather textures — a clean-lined structure with plenty of visual punch.

The Elio bag takes a sleek, elongated bowling silhouette with twin top handles. Its standout feature is a leather tassel zip pull that adds a playful touch to the neat, streamlined body. Offered in three colorways: Cloud Grey, Anthracite and Petrol Blue.

The men's line introduces the new Bauletto duffle, featuring a trapezoidal shape that's narrower at the top and wider at the base, with tubular twin handles. It comes in two sizes, regular and small; most distinctive is a brown distressed Intrecciato-woven leather version, whose naturally mottled, faded patina gives it a distinctly nostalgic feel.
